Hello Boss Ladies! I am a snackaholic. Whatever the situation, there is a snack to fit it. Movie night? I’m bringing the popcorn and the Sour Patch Kids. Late night craving? I’m reaching for a stick of crunchy celery from my fridge. You could say I have a passion for snacking, but I know how hard it is to keep them healthy. It’s very tempting to grab a stack of Oreos instead of a pack of carrots. However, over the years I have perfected my healthy snacking and today I am sharing with you some of my all-time favorites. They are the easiest of easy and will satisfy your snack cravings.
1. Apples and Peanut Butter
I always used to eat this snack before my workouts of my soccer practices. As you all know I am crazy about peanut butter so this snack is definitely right up my ally. The sweetness from the apple will satisfy your sweet tooth and the peanut butter will give you the energy to get through whatever you have to do next. Feel free to try almond or cashew butter too!
2. Boom Chika Pop Popcorn
If you have not tried this popcorn yet, go to the store right now and get some. At only 70 calories per cup, this popcorn is the perfect light snack. It is also whole grain, non-GMO, and gluten free. There are multiple flavors to fit whatever mood you are in. My favorite is the sweet and salty kettle corn that comes in the purple bag.
3. Luna Bars
Another one of my favorite snacks are Luna Nutrition Bars. These bars are around 230 calories a piece and are packed with protein. They are the perfect snack to take with you on the go. I usually eat these for lunch in-between my classes. They keep you full for hours and they have a ton of tasty options from coconut chocolate to blueberry bliss. My favorite is the lemon zest bar because it reminds me of lemon bars. They also offer protein bars if you need a little bit of a heavier snack.
4. Hummus and Veggie Sticks
Hummus is such a great snack. It makes pretty much any vegetable taste amazing. I love cutting carrots, celery, and peppers into sticks and pairing them with my favorite hummus. I also recommend trying spicy avocado hummus if you haven’t. They sell it in almost every supermarket and it is a fun way to dress up your snacks if you get bored.
5. Yogurt Covered Blueberries
This snack basically tastes like dessert. They are perfect for munching on in-between classes or if you have a sweet tooth. I recommend baking a large batch by yourself because the ones in the stores have lots of added sugars and preservatives. You can also switch up the flavor of yogurt to keep things interesting.
6. Frozen Grapes
Frozen grapes are the best thing to eat on a scorching hot summer day. They are like cold little drops of sweetness that burst in your mouth. They are also extremely healthy for you and low calories. It may sound a bit strange if you haven’t tried them before, but I recommend giving them a taste.
7. Wasabi Peas
If you like spice than you will definitely love to snack on these. Wasabi peas offer a serving of vegetables with some heat. These are definitely one of the most addicting snacks I have had over the years. These peas also have the added bonus of boosting your metabolism because of their spicy contents.
8. Bruschetta
This dish is so simple and easy. Simply chop up some tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil and drizzle with balsamic vinaigrette and olive oil. Voila you’ve got a healthy and tasty snack. Bruschetta is a great pre-dinner appetizer and I usually take it to dinner parties because it is the ultimate crowd pleaser.
9. Homemade Baked Sweet Potato Fries
This is a more substantial dish if you are looking for something to tide you over for a little while. It is important that these are homemade and baked because fast food has lots of extra fats and sodium. I usually lightly coat mine with salt, pepper, and olive oil to keep things nutritious.
10. Raspberries with Dark Chocolate Chips
Raspberries and dark chocolate are a killer combo. This snack is sweet and savory mixed into one. Don’t be turned off by the fact it has chocolate in it. Dark chocolate in moderations is actually good for you. So enjoy this delicious treat!
Happy Snacking Everybody!
