Sweet Matcha Latte

Hello Boss Ladies!

In my most recent post I talked about 7 healthy and tasty drinks, one of which was a Matcha Latte. Today I am going to give you my iced matcha latte recipe. Matcha Tea is a superfood that has taken the world by storm. It’s like a cousin to the pumpkin spice epidemic and I for one am a big fan. I usually use matcha as a healthier alternative to drinking caffeinated beverages which have lots of added sugar, like energy drinks and caramel lattes. It gives me a little caffeine buzz without the crash afterwards. I also avoid added sweeteners and artificial flavors. Matcha tea is one of my favorite things to sip on during fall mornings or when I’m studying for classes. If you are already a card caring member of the matcha fan club or if you have never tried it before and want to discover what has made it so popular, stay tuned.

Matcha has plenty of benefits for your body and your overall well-being. It can help calm you down and relax during those stressful weeks or hectic parts of your day. Since matcha is a natural detox drink, it helps to flush toxins out of your system and leaves your feeling refreshed. Matcha also boosts your metabolism which can help with inflammation and weight loss. This drink is loaded with vitamins that are essential to a healthy diet. For instance, Vitamin C, chromium, zinc, and magnesium are just a few of the vitamins this super food is packing. The thing that really makes matcha a superfood though is its ridiculous amount of antioxidants. In fact, one cup of matcha has more antioxidants than ten cups of green tea.

This is recipie is like directions to a little cup of heaven. This takes just a couple minutes to make and it is worth every second. It gives you a rich matcha taste with subtle hint of sweetness and coconut. I like my matcha a little on the sweet side so feel free to add less honey or skip it altogether if you don’t. Stevia is also a good substitute for honey if you don’t have any on hand. Try to stay away from processed artificial sugars for sweetening.

Prep Time:

5 Minutes

Ingredients:

1 Tablespoon of Matcha Tea Powder

1 Tablespoon of Honey

2 Tablespoons of Hot Water

1 ½ cups of coconut almond milk

ice

Directions:

2. Add honey to the matcha mixture and stir until fully combined (the mixture should be completely smooth).

3. Pour the coconut almond milk into the mixture and stir until smooth and fully combined.

4. Add you desired amount of ice and enjoy.
